Spring Brings A Few Amazing Awards

In early March, Suzanne McKechnie Klahr was recognized as one of Silicon Valley's Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. Women selected for this award represented the public, private and nonprofit sectors, and they were recognized for their strong community leadership roles.

Suzanne was also honored at Girls Inc.'s Women Who Dare event in late March. Each year, Women Who Dare celebrates the strides women have made, and inspires girls to reach for equality and success. The event raises awareness in the community about the important work that still needs to be done to empower girls.

In the Metro DC area, Local Advisory Board Member Wanda Alexander was honored at the Washington Business Journal's 2009 Minority Business Leader Awards for her entrepreneurial drive, creativity and success. Wanda is President and CEO of Horizon Consulting, which provides workflow management, data entry, loan quality control, appraisal management, and due diligence services to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other governmental agencies, multifamily housing owners, and commercial banks.
